An Evening of Mediumship
By Tony Stockwell

Remarkably compelling, amazingly detailed and always humorous.

The popular star of TV’s Street Psychic, Psychic Private Eyes and Psychic Academy, Tony Stockwell has a long established credibility as one of the top Intuitive Mediums and has shared the stage all round the world with international mediums such as Colin Fry, James van Praagh and Lisa Williams. Tony demonstrates his belief that those who have passed can communicate with their loved ones with detailed messages frequently including names, dates and locations and all delivered with emotion, sensitivity and empathy. The evening may include psychometry, photographs readings and psychic prediction.

Recent legislative guidelines insist that any Evening of Mediumship should be billed ‘for entertainment purposes’. Tony certainly uses his natural wit, showmanship and Cockney charisma to entertain but more important, Mediumship has the potential to change someone’s life and instil in them a sense of peace, comfort and purpose. We hope that nobody can fail to come away untouched by the experience.

Evenings of Mediumship are not scientifically proven and are presented for educational and entertainment purposes only | 16+ (Parental Guidance)

Romsey Male Voice Choir

RMVC is returning to the Plaza for an evening of Music.

Singing fun taken seriously

We’ve sung in some great venues including the Royal Albert Hall, Winchester and Truro Cathedrals, Wimborne Minster, the Eden Project, the Mayflower Theatre, and some of the best in Jersey and France. We’ve taken home choral trophies from Bath and Cornwall; however, nothing beats coming home to perform in concert to a wonderful Romsey audience in one of the town’s own great venues, the fantastic Plaza Theatre. Led by our well-known charismatic Musical Director, Marion Maxey, the audience should expect to enjoy a wide-ranging repertoire of hymns, spirituals, opera choruses, ballads and songs from the shows as well as the wonderful voice of our guest soprano soloist Nancy Longland.  This winning combination drew a full audience back in February 2018 so get your tickets soon to avoid disappointment. There’s nothing like the singing of a male voice choir to touch so many of the emotions from moving to uplifting to rousing and finally to raising the roof.

We’ll see you there!

Silly Cow
By Ben Elton

A RAODS Production

Silly Cow is a slick, razor-tongued modern satire on the viciousness of tabloid journalism with an ingeniously dramatic dénouement. Doris is a newspaper columnist and reviewer with a talent for caustic insults and career assassination. She is being sued by the actress Trudi Hobson, after writing an article which savaged the respected thespian with accusations of small talent and large thighs. The queen of spleen isn’t worried: she’s got a job offer, a plan for a television show, and the cleavage to help the judge see things her way. But she’s about to discover that even journalists can’t escape reaping what they have sown, and that there’s nothing quite as dramatic as an actress’s revenge.

A Shared Breath
By Linda Morse

A Best of Both Theatre Company production

Meg had two mothers, Evie and Gillian. Her first failed her. Her second struggles to understand her. And now she is a mother herself...

A revelatory new play about adoption, A Shared Breath by Linda Morse, is the story of Meg and her two mothers. The drama cleverly interweaves the stories of the three women in a broad narrative sweep, condensing their lives into an hour of riveting theatre. Linda’s writing sensitively exposes both the resilience and the vulnerability of the characters, while director Pete Talman’s ability to create dramatic visual and emotional impact, shapes this moving piece of theatre.

In a superb performance Tori Deffee, single-handedly plays all the roles, making startling and instantaneous changes between them with absolute control and conviction.

This is a play which combines humour and sadness, tenderness and savagery and, with devastating poignancy, demonstrates how the bruised fates of these women are inextricably and irreversibly linked.

A Shared Breath opens the gateway labelled ‘Adoption’ and steps through into a minefield. The play is followed by a Question and Answer opportunity with the writer, actor, director and a skilled facilitator.

It’s Bella’s 29th birthday. A select group of friends and former lovers meet for a drink to celebrate. They discuss sex and work and are simultaneously repelled and attracted by each other. Lively banter turns to personal insult as the bar becomes a gender battlefield. However, what they don’t know is that Bella’s father is terminally ill. His cancerous tumour becomes a metaphor for all the things his daughter perceives as wrong with her life – her overpaid but shallow job, her romantic dalliances that end in strife but most of all, the worry that she’s not living up to other people’s expectations.

A Tribute to Fleetwood Mac
By Fleetingwood Mac

Fleetingwood Mac, an exciting tribute to the legendary band Fleetwood Mac, returning to the Plaza after their previous fantastic show.

Not just another tribute band, with tacky wigs and fancy dress outfits. Instead they wanted to bring across the live sound of Fleetwood Mac, with just one guitar, a keyboard, a drum kit, a man on the bass and of course, the vocals!

As much as they aim to create a genuine Fleetwood Mac sound, they can’t help but give it a modern edge, it’s just the way they play. How else are five people supposed to play tribute to a band that have lasted nearly 50 years? A band who have over time have featured eight different Guitarists & Vocalists. A band that tour arenas all over the world, with six extra touring musicians. A band that started out as part of the sixties British Blues Invasion and ended up as one of the biggest mainstream groups of the eighties. Let’s not even get into the scandals, relationships and excesses...

They work hard in rehearsals to get the details right and do justice to some classic songs that play a huge part in many people’s lives. They also want to introduce the songs to a new generation of Fleetwood Mac fans, who weren’t even born when the band were in their prime. Fleetingwood Mac are five young musicians who love the music, and want to share the music of one of the worlds greatest bands to a wider audience.

GENESIS was a progressive rock group from the United Kingdom, founded in 1967 by Peter Gabriel, Mike Rutherford, Tony Banks, Anthony Phillips and Chris Stewart. The Traveling Wilburys Tribute Show
By TW Experience

The late 1980’s saw the birth of one of the most famous and memorable supergroups of all time,  The Traveling Wilburys. Featuring five individual icons in their own right, this formidable team created an album that completely rocked the music industry and sold over five million copies worldwide.  Pooling the considerable talents of George Harrison, Roy Orbison, Jeff Lynne, Tom Petty and Bob Dylan, The Wilburys were a real force to be reckoned with and created a sound and style so unique, that even to this day there has never been anything quite like it.

With The Wilburys never actually going on tour, perhaps party due to the untimely death of Roy Orbison in 1988, played here by Paul Hopkins, their fans never got to see them all together in a live concert experience. With that in mind, Paul has joined up with five other very talented singers and musicians, who together have formed this incredible Traveling Wilbury tribute show. With an easy relaxed style, excellent vocals and musicality and a great respect for each others talent, these guys will give you an amazing night of entertainment that will be like nothing you’ve seen before.
