Separate Tables
By Terence Rattigan

A RAODS Production

Simmering passion and concealed desires in a Bournemouth hotel

Separate Tables combines humour and drama through two linked stories that both take place in the Beauregard Private Hotel, Bournemouth. The first story focuses on the passionate but troubled relationship between a disgraced Labour politician and his glamourous ex-wife. The second deals with the touching friendship between a repressed spinster and a kindly upper-class retired army officer with a mysterious past.  This stylish production combines 1950s film noir with genteel British middle-class sensibilities, and challenges many of the social attitudes towards lifestyles and behaviour deemed morally reprehensible in 1950s Britain.

The gloves are off as the monarch meets Maggie!

Ever wondered what went on behind closed Palace doors at Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher’s weekly meetings with the Queen?  This mischievous comedy, which cleverly mixes politics with a hilarious clash of personalities, offers an imagined version of events.  The fun is ramped-up by older versions of Mrs Thatcher and the Queen joining in the fray and often disagreeing with their former selves!  All the other characters, including Denis Thatcher, Ronald Reagan, Arthur Scargill, and many more are played by two "jobbing actors" who squabble over the best roles. The original 2013 production at the Tricycle Theatre won an Olivier Award before transferring to the West End for a successful run.

Boeing Boeing
By Marc Camoletti and Beverley Cross

A RAODS Production

"It all boils down to juggling timetables and a reliable maid who never forgets to change the photographs"

Bernard lives with his housekeeper in a palatial apartment, a stones throw from Orly Airport in Paris.  Bernard thought he could easily keep his three air hostess girlfriends from finding out about each other, it is simply a question of timetabling and he had it down to a fine art. Bernard relishes the chance to show off his elegant scheme, especially when an old school friend turns up out of the blue. All goes to plan until a new turbo-charged Boeing aircraft is introduced and the timetable goes out of the window. We watch as the elegant scheme collapses into farce.

Enjoy the celebrated long-running farce from 1962, revived to great acclaim in 2007 in the West End and on Broadway.

Afterglow Genesis Tribute Band
By Afterglow

The idea behind Afterglow is to cover the music Genesis played once Phil Collins took on vocal duties. The earlier Gabriel period is well supported by numerous tribute bands but there isn't much opportunity to hear those later tracks that are equally popular with most Genesis fans.

Afterglow are not the kind of tribute act that attempts to reenact a particular tour or even look like the original artists but rather to recreate the music that Genesis played over the years. So don't expect costumes or Mellotrons catching fire. Do expect to hear the music played with authentic sounds and fastidious detail. Everything from A Trick of the Tail right up to We Can't Dance... with a few oldies thrown in for good measure!
