RAODS was founded on 11th October 1934 and purchased the Plaza Theatre in 1982. RAODS is an amateur Society organised in accordance with the Charity Commission model. The Main Committee comprises up to twelve trustees and meets monthly to conduct the business of the Society, approve decisions and authorise expenditure.

RoleTypical Functions
ChairmanChairs Monthly Main Committee Meeting, Co-ordinates applications for Grant Funding, Leads Capital Projects.
Vice ChairmanMaintains dialogue with Chairman, Covers duties in absence of Chairman, Co-ordinates RAODS productions and works to support show directors with their productions, co-ordinates with Membership Secretary.
TreasurerManages relationship with bank, Oversees the preparation of annual accounts, Co-ordinates payment of bills, Interfaces with bookkeeper to whom routine data entry is outsourced, Preparation of cheques, Cheque signatory.
SecretaryRecords and distributes minutes of Main Committee/AGM/EGM meetings, Co-ordinates correspondence with the Society, Arranges supplies of stationery and theatre products for cleaners.
Business ManagerManages relationship with Romsey Heritage and Visitor Centre ticket outlet, Co-ordinates design and printing of tickets/programmes/brochures/posters also advertising, mailshot despatches, Marketing and Publicity.
Artistic DirectorCo-ordinates reading of scripts, selects a balanced programme of productions for forthcoming season with sub-committee, attends and assists with auditions as required.
Technical ManagerMaintains and develops the theatre infrastructure, Co-ordinates technical and staff resourcing of venue-hirings, Liaison focus for Workshop/Wardrobe/Props/Stage Management/Sound/Lighting.
Estates ManagerMaintains the fabric of the theatre/workshop/grounds, Co-ordinates schedule of servicing, maintenance and inspection visits by suppliers and contractors, organises upgrade and repair work in discussion with Committee.
Front Of House ManagerCo-ordinates staffing of RAODS and visiting productions, meets with sub-committee to maintain all areas of FOH.
Outside Bookings ManagerCollates all RAODS bookings and takes outside bookings to be discussed monthly at meetings before acceptance into the Diary. Manages regulations and booking forms for ouside companies and liases with Technical, Front of House managers.
NODA & Little Theatre Guild RepCarries responsibility for attending meetings and sharing information with RAODS members from both NODA & the Little Theatre Guild.
Youth Liaison OfficerThis role is to ensure that the Youth members of the society are given opportunities to take part in appropriate RAODS production in various roles from performing to technical, backstage etc. Ensuring that licensing regulations are undertaken through the society's Child Protection Officer, Mrs L. Butcher.
