An hilarious spoof of the best of Agatha Christie traditions set in a country house in the 1930's. A cast of characters guaranteed to delight, Bunting the Butler, an English Colonel, a shady French art dealer and his moll, a bumbling police inspector and a well-meaning local sleuth who seems to attract murder wherever she goes.

TALKING HEADS by Alan Bennett

An innovative presentation of A Chip In The Sugar and A Cream Cracker Under The Settee - both pieces from Alan Bennett's Talking Heads series. Following on from the very well received production of two other pieces from this same series in 2007, here are some more perceptive observations of life’s laughter and sorrow.

Tickets for RAODS/Plaza Theatre productions can be purchased at Romsey Heritage and Visitor Centre either in person at 13 Church Street, Romsey (next to the Post Office) or on (01794) 512987. They are open 9.30 to 17.00 April to October, and 10.00 to 16.00 November to March.

Ticket prices typically range between £6.00 - £10.00 depending on show and performance: please check price and performance time at point of purchasing. Credit and Debit cards are accepted.

Please note that with effect from February 2007, concessionary discount pricing will be discontinued, and all RAODS shows will feature a single ticket price per night. The price profile across the week will typically be:

Car Parking

Would patrons please note that there is a car park at the rear of the theatre. Parking is not permitted in front of the row of shops in the Plaza Parade. Download a parking map showing the theatre car park and an alternate car park within 5 minutes walk.


Access Facilities

Wheelchairs
Wheelchair

Access to the auditorium may be gained by lift and we can accommodate a limited number of wheelchairs at the front. If you wish to use the lift or have difficulty in climbing the stairs to the auditorium, please notify the Box Office of your requirements when booking tickets so that suitable seats can be allocated and Front of House staff notified.

Guide Dogs
Eye

Guide Dogs are allowed in the auditorium. Please notify the Box Office if you wish to bring a guide dog so that suitable space can be allocated.

Patrons with Impaired Hearing
Ear

A Sennheiser transmission system is installed in the auditorium to help patrons who have difficulty hearing. The small lightweight unit has a stethoscope-type earpiece. It is easy to operate and comfortable in use. Please ask at the Box Office to borrow one of these units. You will be shown how to use it. Please return it to the Box Office after use. There is no charge for the use of the headsets. This unit operates in the auditorium only.

Seating Plan

The theatre auditorium is raked with two access doors at the top (adjacent to seats P1 and P18 in the diagram) which lead via stairs to the Plaza Bar and foyer. The third entrance at lower level nearest to the stage (adjacent to seat B15 in the diagram) facilitates a stair-lift for wheelchair access. (See picture of Plaza's Auditorium) Click on the plan below to see variations on how some of the Plaza's seating can be blocked out for shows requiring different sizes of sound mix position in the back row and orchestra pit in the front rows.
